NETWORK EXPERIENCE:
  • Designed and implemented a highly available network solution with redundancy and load balancing for both labs and production
  • Support, monitor, and troubleshoot corporate network across 30 locations including international offices (VLAN, STP, trunks, packet loss, routing problems)
  • Core project member of integration and migration related to company buy-out, involving the meshing of network WAN and LAN with least privilege security requirements
  • Daily support involving VLAN changes, customers and servers moves, and checking network utilization for branch offices
  • Worked with WAN, ISP, and VAR providers to order circuits, equipment, and other managed services
  • Lowered cost of network services by setting up VPN tunnel on Cisco routers & ASA firewalls between various remote offices and corporate head quarters
  • Decreased network outages and increased SLAs by working with ISP to troubleshoot and identify problems early
  • Insured minimal operating cost by providing a baseline usage of LAN and WAN bandwidth requirements using SNMP and MRTG
  • Simplified network design and increased security by setting up NAT and ACL on Cisco routers to allow corporate VLAN(s) to access the internet
  • Setup, support, and monitor layer 4 Foundry and Alteon switches for QA Lab and production LAN
  • Architect and implement Cisco routers and switch for QA lab and production
  • Streamlined datacenter deployment process and decreased timeline by 300%.
  • Work with ISP to troubleshoot network outage and congestion
  • Help isolate streaming media multicast with VLAN segmentation
  • Architected, designed, and build a backup data center for disaster recovery (DR)
  • Pioneered automated scripts for the deployment and configuration of Cisco switches and routers
  • Strengthened customer satisfaction as team lead by building and redesigning over 10 new data centers at various co-location
  • Rolled out over 30 new products by successfully managing a group of seven network engineers
  • Introduced the Palm VII Wireless network by teaming with a group of 15 system and network engineers

STORAGE EXPERIENCE:

  • Successfully implemented SAN storage to over 50 servers with EMC Symmetric, Control Center, and Cisco MDS Fabric Manager / Device Manager
  • Successfully architected and built a 22 Terabyte NAS and 10 Terabyte SAN infrastructure to provide the most reliable production environment (NetApp, Dot Hill, Brocade, EMC Symmetric MDX, Cisco MDS, and CNT Edge).
  • Discovered storage systems performance limitation by building a storage lab to test both SAN and NAS for NFS V2/V3 and CIFS streaming performance (Brocade, Alteon, and Enterprise servers (Dell & Compaq)).
  • Build a test lab to measure performance and data lost for EMC SRDF Asynchronies replications over a simulated 24ms delay OC3
  • Design a migration strategy to minimize down time for data moving from DAS to SAN over 2Gb fiber links
  • Increased streaming quality by designing a nation wide storage replication schema with NetApp Snap Mirror
  • Participated in RFP to evaluate popular NAS, SAN, and SSP vendors for outsourcing storage needs (Blue Arc, NetApp, Scale 8, Dot Hill, Dell Power Vault, & Compaq Storage Array, EMC)
SYSTEM EXPERIENCE:
  • Successfully deployed SMS 2003 to manage and standardize over 1000 desktops and laptops
  • Packaged and deployed Office 2003 and other software products to over 1000 desktops utilizing Microsoft MSI / MST and VBScripts
  • Secured system uptime by implementing Windows cluster for streaming media, SQL, IIS, and Exchange 2003 using both cluster services and SAN technology
  • Design a Windows 2003 security baseline template to secure Windows 2003 production servers using Active Directory GPO and Local Security Policy
  • Automated daily operation’s tasks by writing VBScripts, batch files, and WinBatch.
  • Architect and implement the migration of users, computers, files and folders between two Windows 2003 Active Directory Forests
  • Insured disaster recovery by providing backup routines for domain controllers, Exchange servers, and file servers
